The Story Behind the Jaded Princess
Created in 1977, the Jaded Princess is a life-sized sculpture hand-constructed from approximately 2,400 electronic circuit boards.
Inspired by the jade burial suits of China’s Han Dynasty, Gloria Alford transformed the defining material of the computer age into a meditation on technology’s power, for both creation and destruction, and ultimately its potential to serve humanity.
